Inside–outside.

It is within the alternation of these positions that we can try to interpret the dynamic described in Giorgio’s case. Inside the clinic, outside the cell, inside the relationship, in the relationship, outside the relationship. For Giorgio, the psychologist represents the outside that enters inside: literally, like any free citizen who enters and then leaves the prison, and metaphorically, as someone who, through their entrance, opens up a possibility—the possibility of becoming a subject.
