Some considerations on the diagnostic process and the analytical work, in the light of the current interest in the dimensional assessment

The tools aimed at formulating the diagnosis according to a dimensional logic, such as the PDM, direct the diagnostic reasoning not only to accept the subjectivity of the patient, but using an epistemological system nourished by the logic of Complexity and constructivism, promote the recognition of the patient therapist dyad as an observational vertex of the diagnostic field. In this sense, the diagnostic work presents an opportunity both to extend and refine the conceptualisation of the analyst's role and to reflect on how the data emerging from the evaluation can be used in clinical practice. In particular, through the presentation of a clinical situation, the importance of a clinical evaluation open to reformulation along the therapeutic work is highlighted, in order to grasp the new possibilities emerging from the analytical field in the present moment, capable of understanding and using the implicit manoeuvres that the patient puts into practice in the therapeutic relationship, in search of the expansion of his own subjectivity.
