According to the aim of political science, a particular interpretation of Historical Materialism leads the construction of an original pattern, in order to explore the foundations of power of historical political systems. Rejecting unilateral vision of the economical base of political society, this kind of analytical model appears useful to investigate the rising of different social sources of power, material and ideal as well. Its focus lies on historical and technological roots of social process that ultimately have an impact on consolidation of political power.
